Christopher Barel turns World Payment Corporation into a new page with in-depth knowledge of the payments and ecommerce as a business leader. He attains transcendent experience in running Ecommerce business and Engineering at WPC, where he led WPC teams responsible for Vendor ultimate experiences.
As our Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for product, technology and engineering at WPC, as well as the user experiences for WPC’s Vendor. Christopher is a senior member of WPC’s executive team responsible for delivering on successful expansion and profit goals and key operational objectives for the company globally.
A serial entrepreneur who has joined building Dwolla, Christopher joined World Payments Corps in 2013 as CEO of WPC Payments Solution. He and his team have fueled the Vietnamese mobile commerce revolution through many projects.Also, as a veteran of the payments industry, Christopher also served as president of FloreVn where he advised leading financial technology companies, and was an early engineer at two other successful start-ups.
Christopher holds bachelor's degree in information systems and finance from the University of Louisville. He served in the board of Global Enactus, a non-profit organization focus on Society-beneficially-oriented project by entrepreneur actions.
Sophie Binder serves as Senior General Counsel leading the World Payment Corporation’s external department team and is responsible for oversight of World Payment Corporation legal activities, and is part of the Chief Business Affairs and Legal Officer team.
Sophie joined us in 2012 and responsible for providing legal support to the company’s Global Product & Payment Solution.She plays irreplaceable role in implementing and supervising legal support model, which drives greater efficiencies in the product review process. Sophie has over 10 years of experience in Ecommerce and payments law and is committed to effective leadership, talent management and diversity efforts.
Prior to joining WPC, Sophie served in various roles of increasing responsibility at ACH Payments where she drove the global strategy to expand the company’s emerging and digital payments services.Sophie received a Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University.
Cihan Anka, WPC’s Chief Enterprise Services Officer, is an inspiring leader who brings a unique breadth of insight and knowledge through years of bargaining strategy with nearly every aspect of working with people, customer caring, dispute resolution, making-decision process and global marketing.
Cihan joined us in 2009 to train and set the keenest background for WPC’s Customer Service Team, a young group that must be leaded by an ambitious trailblazer before reaching excellent mature team as nowadays. In 2013, Cihan was appointed PayPal’s Chief Risk Officer, and in 2015, his role was expanded to Chief Enterprise Services Officer, Cihan leads global teams responsible for dealing with financial, credit and fraud risk management and analytics, the risk and data platforms development and service, risk operations and financial services operations. Cihan has devoted much to ensure WPC delivers seamless experiences to Vendors all over the world.
Prior to WPC, Cihan was a pioneer of technology that facilitates 3Ds Secure Process for transactions issued by cards and other payment methods provider. As Vice President of Business Development and Marketing, Cihan oversaw the company’s strategic partnerships and led its marketing campaigns. Also, Cihan worked as a reliable leader in Silicon Valley, advising leading businesses in retail, financial services, and healthcare on sales, business strategy and acquisitions.
Cihan used to serve as an Talpion officer in the Israeli military intelligence in various technology, product management and data collection roles.
